• TriWest and Optum: These are third-party administrators (TPAs) that manage regional networks of community providers. TriWest handles regions 4 and 5, while Optum manages regions 1, 2, and 3.
• Purpose: CCN agreements allow veterans to receive care from community providers when the VA cannot provide timely or geographically accessible services.
• Benefits: Veterans can access a broader range of healthcare services closer to their homes, reducing travel time and wait times for appointments.
